My poor neglected gardens :(

Haven't had much time so far to do anything in my gardens so please excuse the mess and the weeds.
The side garden beside the house. Hostas, Lady's Mantle, campanula, cat mint, delphinium, and a few other things.......

These ones are in my "forgotten garden" at the front of the house. I never get up there to clean it up.

Blanket Flowers are one of my fav. They don't last long as a perennial but they self seed so I always have lots. Just never sure where they are going to pop up in my beds. And that suits me fine. I'm not an organized gardener. Sort of like the wild look.

Very nice, 14+!! I wish I had that much blooming right now! That first shot looks like you're walking into paradise!

If you like the wild look, you'll love my garden this year, 14+! I got great sproutage on those seeds you sent ...but cuz I wasn't expecting so many to come up, I sorta crowded them... It's gonna be pretty exciting when stuff starts blooming!!!!

Great garden 14+. I have some of those plants but wish I had more of them. My campanula hasn't flowered yet, and I only get one or two flowers on my calliopsis. It might be in the wrong spot perhaps. When other gardeners show a lot of nice plants like this I always make a shopping list.

I don't see any weeds . I do love large gardens that have mounds of different colours and shapes and yours has that .

Pretty mess paradise! I'm hoping once I get Stormy's shelter completed on my next day off I can then spend some time on my gardens. I have to lift all of the slate up on my little patios, clean the weeds, put down cloth, and reset them all. I'm hoping that stops the weeds a little.
I am so glad to hear the seeds are doing well this year. Must be all the rain! You can decide once they are up and blooming what needs thinned out.

Calliopsis or Coreopsis? Calliopsis is the annual that reseeds. Coreopsis is the one that comes up each year in the same place. It's possible in your country though that they are both perennials.

Thanks L4! There's tons of weeds in all my beds. Believe me! I need about a week of work in them to be happy.

Yes, that was an oops, 14+, it's the Sun Ray Coreopsis I have and if mine ever flower as well as yours I'd be really pleased. My sister pays us an annual visit and usually brings up enough plants for me to start a plant nursery. I know she has Coral Bells so hope she'll bring me that one. Wish I could have your sort of garden actually, big wide beds are fantastic for massed displays. I am right into delphiniums by the way, I have a double row in a bed facing my office window, behind a row of roses. I had black hollyhocks there and foxgloves as well but they took up too much room.

Coral Bell seeds

I have just collected a good number of Coral Bell seeds. If anyone is interested in some feel free to pm me your address and I will be glad to send you some. These seeds are very tiny so, while it may not look like I have sent you a bunch, you will get probably 25 to 50 seeds.

They're gorgeous, 14+!! Are they shade plants or do they like sun?

Those particular plants have been there since last spring. They are in complete open with a few taller plants to shade them. I have my Jacob's Ladder and Day lilies planted nearby and tons of Black Eyed Susans. They would do well in the open as long as they were well watered or had some shade during the heat of the day.
Did you want some seeds? I know I didn't send any before as these guys didn't flower well last year. Or have you run out of room.

If they like shade, I have just the place for them As long as they're not toxic, anyway Do you know?

The place I have is right in front of the hummingbird garden and the dogs will likely be able to nibble a leaf here and there... It's in shade most of the day except for the early morning. Think they'd like it there?

I will get them sent. You could try putting the seeds in when you get them but don't expect much this year. Not toxic to dogs. Does well in shade or mostly shade as well as sun. It's one of those all round good plants. Give it some water occasionally and you can basically forget it. At least until it gives that beautiful show of flowers.

Excellent! 14+!! Don't think I'll need to water them this year...if anything, I'll have to siphon away the runoff from all the rain we've been getting! I haven't watered a garden in two weeks!!

We are supposed to have rain tomorrow but really, we have had a hot, dry year so far. As usual it can be raining downtown 5 minutes away and it will be dry here. I very seldom water my plants. I am a very bad gardener.

I suspect that I water too much--probably part of my moldy thumb syndrome. It's amazing how much difference just a few miles make--where we used to live, 45 miles west of here, it's still droughty. We've not only made up our deficit, but we're well ahead of schedule here Go figure...

That's a possibility. A good trick to find out if you need to water is to push a stick into the ground. If it is damp an inch or so down you don't need to water. The roots are getting plenty of moisture. Also, if the stick goes into ground that has not been recently worked up fairly easily chances are you don't need to water. Hope that helps a little.
But then again - when you show pics of your plants all I ever see is beautiful plants. Not mould. Nothing but beauty.

Yup. Everything is going gangbusters...gangly, out of control, lilies growing out of peonies and spiderwort, chives invading indiscriminately... You know that old saying that what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger? Well these are the survivors and they're gonna eat New York in a B movie!

I'll have to try the stick trick

Oh please do!! I love seeing everyone else's gardens! People have such diverse ideas when it comes to gardening.
Just thought I'd take a pic of the seeds to show how tiny they are. There are maybe 100 seeds in the pack I am sending you. Doesn't look like that many.

Wow! They are tiny!!! How do you even plant them? If I just sprinkle them over the soil would they sprout or do they need a fine layer of soil over them?

I just closed the envelope with instructions.
Either 1/8 inch deep or sprinkle and cover with a fine layer of soil/sand mix. If you have good quality soil you don't need the sand. It just helps the seeds germinate if they aren't squashed in heavy soil.
