diagnosis.. any help would be great!

I have a 8 month old Bull-Jack, that has just started drooling on Thursday
he is drooling quite a bit and drools a lot when he sleeps.

I called my vet on Thursday they asked me some questions and they said to just keep an eye on him.

So Friday I stayed home from work and stayed with him.

Friday and Saturday his drool had slowed down a lot to almost nothing.
But now on Sunday it has returned, like it was on Thursday..

The puppy's mom is a French Bulldog and Jack Russell mix,
the father is a Chihuahua.

The puppy is eating and drinking normal all behaviour is normal,
I have looked in his mouth and I do not see anything wrong with
his teeth or gums and he is not rubbing the side of his mouth with his paw.

He is up to date with all shots, flea and tick care done. Heartworm care to start in June.

so , I guess my question is could this be a normal thing that has now just started?

Just a bit concerned and thinking I might just bite the bullet and take him to the emergency vets...

As you can see in the pic, he looks like a bull-jack

Your puppy could teething and that can cause him to drool. How does the eyes and nose looks , is there and discharge in his eyes and nose? If there is any green discharge you need to bring your dog to the vet right away.

All baby teeth are gone, when I had Patch nurtured a month ago they took out his last baby tooth.

nose and eyes are perfect, no discharge anywhere...

He is still very active and we are still going to park and running on the soccer field and playing ball.

Everything seems fine, no problems at all ..
I was going to take him to the emergency vet, but when I called they said I should be able to wait till Tuesday when my vet is open and told me just to watch and make sure he does not get dehydrated.. but she said if I felt better I could bring him in but its a 4-5 hour wait

Have you had a good look at the roof of his mouth in case he has something jammed between his teeth, accross from teeth on one side over to the other, or even something small jammed in between two teeth? Put him upside down in your lap and you might get a good look.

I did that.. I even got my daughter to look also.
I was even looking for a small cut or something, because he loves sticks, so I was thinking he could of got a small cut from a stick.. But again we can't seem to find anything..

Today his drool has seemed to slow down to almost nothing again

I hope it stays that way and stops..

I guess the emergency vet want to take care of pets that they feel are at greater risk . It can be that way at the ER for people too.

Had you applied any flea and tick meds or repellents? This could be a response to something toxic. Other neuro insults can cause this too, including vaccinations. Eta: chewing on toxic plants could caue this too.

Severe stomach upset can cause this too.

He's awfully cute!
