think my cat may have broken a stitch..
I had my cat spayed just over a week ago she has been fine and normal but has been licking her stitches the past few days ive been stopping her, but it seems like she may have ripped a stitch out, and im worried it may be infected. she has been mobile and eating and drinking as uaual. some help plse

Bring your cat to vet right away before she get an infection.

ya that looks nasty! Hate to say it but that's a lousy stitching job! I'd be changing vets if I saw stitches like that!

Then the cat should go to an ER vet to made sure it OK. Poor kitty.

ya I didn't think it looked right either...this whole experience has been a nightmare...im taking her to the vet first thing in the morning.. thanks for your replys

make sure she gets some pain meds. My vet gave my kitten metacam liquid. They put the doses in syringes w/o needles so I didn't have to measure anything, just a quick squirt.

Pain meds...absolutely!..........
BUT.......... NEVER ACCEPT METACAM AS A PAIN RELIEVER FOR A CAT!!!!!!!!!!!! First, for the plain-and-simple version: http://www.metacamkills.com Metacam is the brand name of the chemical meloxicam. For more of a science-based understanding: Quote:

thanks Rusty!! I will make a note of that, should I be needing pain meds sometimes for my kitties!! I remember it was a very small dose and she only got 2 syringes.

I took her in to the vet this morning she has an infection but I got some antibiotics for her now....thanks for the replys...and no this is a week after her surgery she was picking at it before and broke a stitch...doing a lot better now resting up
