I must say you sure do have patience and after 5 hr of walking in knee high snow I'm sure glad he co-operated.

Nice shot, psyclop! Pileated woodpeckers can be devilishly tricky to sneak up on unless you manage to catch them going after a juicy grub.

Lucky you. Pileated woodpeckers are very shy. I don't think of them as little either. You must have tremendous patience.
