Jim, she likely left because she realized no one was going to support her adopting a 6 week old kitten, then making him sleep alone in some corner of her home, spraying him when he tried to come near her bed, and not even taking him to the vet for proper care of fleas.

Jim,I think this young lady got the kitten as an impulse,it can happen, more often than not.
They are incredibly cute easy to love,my Chico was an impulse-buy,turned out to be a good one however. This little baby-kitten,needs so much more than this girl is prepared to give,so,yes IMO the kitten should be rehomed.

especially the part of her BF not liking the idea of the cat near the bed sounds worrisome to me, If she is viewing it as 'just an animal' sounds like it could be disposable.. If she is already having problems with not wanting it near her when it is the cute tiny baby asking for attention and reassurance than what happens down the line when it is an older cat that is sick, pooping and puking? or something? If she wants the cat and truly loves it then I think it is her that needs to change and not the kitten.
