I'll have to remember the chicken wings. I like them, too, but I suppose since I love the little dude, I can sacrifice my snack for him! Might be a lot easier to find than necks, which seem to be sort of hard to find around here...

If your cat is eating raw, you're lucky. Most cats are creatures of habit and don't like to switch foods, especially to raw. If poop is all good, there's no reason you can't feed a bit of raw here and there. Chewable bones are the best for teeth and gums, natures toothbrush. Definitely no trouble with finicky eating here. JD is an equal opportunity nosher! I think it's because of the chronic respiratory thing--not much sense of smell, maybe?
He's never had a mouse that I know of, though we do get them in the basement this time of year, so perhaps he's been having fun while we sleep! The basement is exposed on the south side and I know he sees mice and shrews and squirrels and chipmunks on the rocks just outside his sunny windows. "Cat TV", we call it. I know he'd love to get his paws on one... And if he did, I really wouldn't object to it. But, yeah, it would be a little hard to watch. We might have had a rat earlier. The mesh we use to protect the pipe that drains the ground water from around the foundation fell out sometime this summer. We replaced it as soon as we noticed, but a few weeks later, when I was flushing the pipe, I took the mesh out and a drowned rat floated out. I was creeped out and sad at the same time... But I think that the emergency drain in the basement floor comes out through the same pipe somehow, so it's possible the poor little blighter made it into the basement at one time or another. It certainly would explain JD's sudden interest in that side of the basement--normally, there's a closed connecting door, but he started spending a lot of time staring at the crack under the door this summer Not sure if he wanted to make friends or go hunting, though. He is a sociable little guy!
