Arrow x-ray help!!

Hey everyone! This is my first time making a post!
Im glad to have found this site and hope that someone can help!

I have a 5 year old elkhound who is REALLY ill. We took him to the Dr's and he had these x-rays taken.. The vet said shes never seen anything like this so Im hoping that someone here can give some insite. Shes sending the x-rays to other vets but I want to make sure that we get as much in-put as we can...

Heres the pictures.... There are spots on his bones.

He is starting kidney failure. as per blood tests. He has high calcium levels. High Vit D... As per blood tests.

The Vet *thinks* that it might be Hypercalcemia. But isnt to sure.

I am looking for ANY input that anyone can give.

I want to try and get as much info to help get my baby better IF their is anything.

Thanks in advance!
Mel

Hi Mel, sorry to hear your baby is sick

What symptoms is he showing? are the lymph nodes enlarged?

Has the vet done other tests like parathyroid hormone levels, test for Addison’s Disease?

Kidney failure can cause hypercalcemia (and vise versa), ingesting too much vitamin D will also cause hypercalcemia.

Some info on Hypercalcemia and more

Unfortunately osteosarcoma can also lead to hypercalcemia

Primary bone tumors (eg, osteosarcoma) and neoplastic cells within the bone marrow (eg, multiple myeloma) may occasionally produce hypercalcemia

good luck to you & your guy

Hi!
Thanks for getting back to me!

Hes lost a LOT of weight in the past 72 hours.. He looks like hes a 20 year old dog the way hes walking. It looks like his bones are giving out on him or something.

Our littler dog wanted to play with him yesterday and he turned to get away from her can he fell. Also he was trying to get up yesterday and his front paws gave out.

He wasnt eating for a few days we now got some soft food to mix with his regular food and have upped his food so he can get some strength.

His lymph nodes are not enlarged.

Im not to sure if they have checked on the Addison's Disease.. Ill have to ask my husband we were getting so many tests done I started to lose track!!

Oh, I'm so sorry ~Mel~ I was hoping you'd get better news.

Try to stay positive for him--he'll be a lot happier if you're happy. Cherish every minutes, spoil him rotten and give him a big hug and kiss from hazel.
