I'm glad to hear that Petey seems to be on the mend, Smiley! We're still crossing s and s for tomorrow's results!

In regards to the charcoal, I have a friend who takes charcoal tablets to help with a gout problem, and I know that the charcoal makes normal human poo much darker, sometimes black (I hate that I know this!) so imagine what a lot of charcoal will do to a sick doggie!!

How is Petey feeling today?

I had a bout with poisoning here and lots of charcoal everywhere to deal with when it was all over. I seem to remember the charcoal was easier to get rid of once it had dried. I took a stiff brush and the vacuum cleaner and would brush then vacuum then brush then vacuum. Adding in some baking soda or corn starch will help to absorb any of the yuck left behind. Sprinkle, let it for a bit and suck it up.

Good luck. I hope the test results are perfect tomorrow

Just got back from the vet! They did blood tests to check on kidney, liver, and electrolytes, but we won't get the results back until tomorrow. So one more day of waiting! But he is back to normal now, so everything seems to be fine! The charcoal seems to have finally worked through his system now as well, YAY, so he seems much happier again now. My carpet is happier now too. So I'll let everyone know once we get the results back tomorrow, but things look good!

Thank you all also for the suggestions on getting the charcoal out of carpet! I'm trying the vinegar now, so hopefully that will help! Otherwise, I'll rent a shampooer or have a carpet cleaning company come out. My carpets are due for a cleaning anyway.

Thank you all so much!!!!

Just got off the phone with the vet, and everything is normal!!!!! WAHOOO!!!! I am so relieved!!! Kidneys, liver, and electrolytes are all normal! So he's been given the official all clear now!

Thanks again for all your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes!!!!

Yesterday, I threw away all the other stuff and went out and bought Sluggo instead. It says right on the bottle that it's pet safe.

Okay I have to ask Hazlerunpack? How do you look after 6 dogs and birdwatch? Do you ever see Peregrine Falcons?

LOL, that's okay! I was actually just thinking of asking her if she's seen any hummingbirds yet! I haven't seen any yet this year! But I can't remember what time of year they normally come by our area.

Thanks again everyone!!!! Petey is doing GREAT!
