I was curious, has anybody else tried their pets food?

LOL, okay I know this sounds weird, but I had to ask.

I feed Vlad and Oksana Hills Science Diet for kittens, which they like, and two or three times a week, I give them some good wet food from Nutro Max cat.

Yesterday when I gave them their kibbles, I sat on the floor, listening to them crunch away, and wondered how hard the kibbles were. I'm always concerned that it might be too hard for their little teeth. Sooooo... I took one and bit into it. Not as hard as I thought, and actually kind of tasty. LOL, then I thought, "Am I nuts?"

So, has anybody here ever been THAT curious about their cats food?

Please tell me I'm not crazy.

Oh thank you for asking! He's back to his old self. I think it was a combination of the neutering and just all the boxes and packing. I'm getting them some Feliway and will have it in the new place before I bring them over, just to make the transition easier for them.

And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. LOL, I have to say, their canned food smells pretty good.

I remember the merrick's grammy pot pie used to look good enough to eat, but I never tried it. You are a brave soul.

LOL! I have not tried what I feed them now, though have in the past been tempted by certain types of wet food. When I was a kid I tried my dogs 'Kibbles & Bits' - gross!

LOL, the wet food looks kind of nasty, although the stuff I feed them looks like pate'. I'm sure it doesn't taste like that though.

Nope. Some of it smells real good though.

And I did eat milkbones when I was a kid I liked the light coloured ones best!

Totally OT, LOL, but I really CAN tell the difference between brown M&M's and the colored ones! People don't believe me until I prove it to them. I've been blindfolded and given different M&M's and can always tell which one is brown. I'm not a big chocolate fan and the browns ones have a tinge more bitterness (that's how chocolate tastes to me, bitter) than the colored ones do. It's true! LOL!

And back on topic, I tried dog food out of curiosity as a kid, but not since then.

I also ate milkbones when I was a kid, preferably green ones. Brothers and sisters always argued over them. When I switched dog food from Nutro to Innova, the girl at the store said that the company wouldn't feed pets anything they wouldn't eat themselves. When I got it home I tried it, not too bad but I think I will leave it for the dogs.

I have been known to snack on the dawg's neenie-butter & apple treats as well as their veggie & garlic ones ~ but I make 'em so I known what's in them. They are too "tooth-breaking" crunchy for me these days so no more "walk n' snack". I haven't tried their Orijen fishy food ~ yet. it sure does smell FISHY though !!

Come to think of it, as a kid I used to eat the pale milk bones too ~ mostly to amuse and gross out my friends though.

Yup I ate milkbones as a kid...the different coloured ones that were supposed to be different flavors. They all tasted the same to me, just kind of a bland taste. I tried kibble as a kid too. The worst was when I decided to try my rabbit's food, wow was that bitter!

My cousin ate canned cat food once and said it wasn't that bad, but I wouldn't try it!

Sometimes now when I cook for my dog, I am tempted to just eat some of her food so I don't have to make another meal for myself.

The only things I've tried are my home-made salmon treats, heart treats and any dog cookies. The salmon treats and heart treats are the best......the cookies are alright but not sweet enough.

one time I was baking cookies for the dogs (meat baby food and other ingredients I don't remember) a GF of mine was at my place, her BF arrived later and said he didn't know what was cooking but it sure smelled great, so we told him I was baking cookies ... and he had one. Said it wasn't so bad (trying to stay polite?) and then we told him. We had a good laugh.

Actually, I've always sort of liked the flavor of milkbones...and hazel is pretty sure you could live on a straight diet of kibble

But then, they don't call us the crazy lady for nuthin', now, do they? :warped:
