Our cat is missing :(

My daughter took our Gracie kitty outside on Friday (May 15) on a leash and was sitting on the front steps with her. As she was about to go into the house she removed the leash and a large truck drove by which startled the cat, she scratched my daughter and ran away.

We haven't seen her since

She's approximately 8 years old (we've had her for 7 years but she was a rescue so we are unsure of her exact age), she's declawed in the front (thanks to her previous owners) and has a red collar with a bell on it. She recently managed to lose her ID tag and is good at getting rid of collars as well so I wouldn't be surprised if she had managed to wiggle out of another one. She's very friendly and will go up to people, especially if there is food involved.

I've attached a picture, if you see our little girl (lost on Valois in the Vaudreuil, Quebec area) please contact me at (xxx) xxx-xxxx as we are very worried about her.

I am also open to any suggestions in finding her, these are the steps we've taken so far:

1) Placed signs with pictures around the neighborhood, including pet store and pet groomer in the area.

2) Placed lost ads on craigslist/kijiji as well as www.cascaorg.com

3) We've placed her little box in the yard as well as a few clothing items so she can scent us.

4) We've been walking & driving around the neighborhood at various times day/night calling her.

Thank you for your time,

Lori

Someone on here recently had their cat go missing and it was suggested to put out some strong odored fish (salmon or tuna, etc.) to attract the cat. Maybe you could try that.

I hope you find your kitty soon

Thank you, I really hope she turns up soon. I'll try the tuna tonight when I get home, that's a great idea. Of course, I'm sure I'll have 50 cats in my yard, I'll keep my fingers crossed that one of them belongs to me!

Mat&Murph, your puppies were born on my birthday last year! So cute

Thank you so much, I've sent them an email.

I've done everything I can think of and am just devastated that our girl isn't back, I'm so worried that I'll never see her again

Our girl came home !!!!!!

I was in the shower this morning and my daughter started yelling...I ran out to see what was going on and she had Grace in her arms! My daughter was asleep in her room and woke up because she heard Gracie meowing outside.

Just a side note, one thing I was told to do was to put her used litterbox outside and also spread some around our house. I did this the 2nd day she was missing and when my daughter found her she was sitting RIGHT beside her litterbox crying. I don't know if this is common knowledge but I'm convinced that this is how our girl was able to find us again!

Thank you all for your nice thoughts and support while our kitty was missing, I hope that everyone with a lost pet has such a happy ending.

I am so glad. Yes putting out items that will have a strong scent will help bring them home. Cats and dogs sense of smell is beyond what we can imagine.

I did email everyone that I had contacted to look for her to tell them the great news, I've learned a lot about the rescues and how hard people work for our animals and I'm amazed. When the pouring rain stops I'll go and remove all of the signs I put up, I made a list when I was placing them so I'd know to remove them all.

Thank you all so much for your kind words, it's really appreciated.
