Question about nutritional info
I have this recipe for an awesome turkey soup, the problem is I don't know what the calories are, or any other nutritional values it has. Does anyone know how I could find it out? I think it's a lost cause because you basically throw a bunch of stuff in a pot, cook it till it's mush and then strain it just to use the broth. But you're not actually eating the meat or the pulp from the veggies. Anyone have any ideas?

ummmmm
that's basically a recipe for stock. I can look up the nutritional value on Poultry stock for it. hmmmm There we go, that's pretty much the standard for any type of Poultry Broth.
Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 417 Calories; 29g Fat (64.4% calories from fat); 33g Protein; 4g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 170mg Cholesterol; 154mg Sodium. Exchanges: 4 1/2 Lean Meat; 1/2 Vegetable; 3 Fat.

Thanks BMD!
I figured it's basically stock because you're not eating anything from it but I thought the nutritional values would change so much depending on what you put in it. Is that what the exchanges are all about? I don't get that part. Sorry, I confuse easily! |

exchanges
That's for a diabetic to figure out what bases they are covering for the day. Also, I think weight watchers program refers to them as well. I'm diabetic so I watch that stuff too.
