Long walk pics
Thanksgiving meant we had time for a long walk on a country road. Prairies are still a little hard to get used to for us ex-mountain hikers, but the dogs are starting to do the single file 'savannah walk' their kind is used to,
Good sniffs! |

I love the first pic. Do they ever trade places with being the leader?

O yes, they trade, but Caesar is naturally a faster walker, so it works better with Dharma in the rear. Is fun to watch--one gets a whiff of something, and stops--either blocking the dog behind or getting left behind for a bit. Then, they might make a sideways foray to check out the whiff better, but then the humans leave them behind, so those forays are very quick,
Most people like the white--but it is a fault -- they should only have white toes and or a bit of white on the chest. The black mask is actually not that common anymore--more are breeding for no black. There is also 'livernose' which has no black pigment at all--brown nose and yellow-brown eyes. |
