New dry food
Just to let you all know there is now a new dry food on the market in the UK, with over 16% this is a dramatic rise from pedigrees 4%. And it seems to be a success it is the 1st time i have saw Max eating dry food on his own for 9 years. This new food is called weignwrights(I think thats how you spell it) and is also good for dogs with allergies!

Ingredients of Wainwright's Turkey and Rice:
Rice, Turkey Meat Meal, Whole Grain Barley, Whole Linseed, Sugar Beet Pulp, Refined Poultry Oil, Low Allergen Poultry Digest As Gravy, Alfalfa, Natural Seaweed, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Methionine, Marigold Extract, Yucca Extract, Rosemary Extract. Contains Tocopherol Rich Extracts Of Natural Origin Vitamin E and Vitamin C Typical Analysis: Moisture 8%, Protein 23%, Oils and Fats 10%, Fibre 4.5% Source --------------- I think I'd give it a miss if I were in the UK. No prebiotics or probiotics; rice as the main ingredient (should be called "Rice and Turkey"); linseed (flax) should be ground, not whole. Last edited by Hound Dog; June 19th, 2009 at 03:09 PM. |

sugar beet pulp also, that is what is left over after they get the sugar out and then sell to pet food industry.. at least the turkey is in meal for so that is without the watr content, if it was just turkey there would be hardly any meat in this food. and I would skip the barley myself.. Doesn't sound too much better than the average pet food, although there is no corn or wheat and that is good.

And beet pulp is stool hardner. The 'poultry oil' and 'poultry digest' alone would make me say no thanks to this food.
