Update on Sadie
Hi guys! Well Sadie is home from the vet and is acting very normally. She is pretty much ignoring her wound and eating up all the attention. Right now she is "smiling" and prancing around the house like she owns it. hehe Here are a couple of shots from today.



And a close up of her incision. It looks really good. I have seen spay incisions that are not straight, or the skin is puckered.

Ohoh, I see a spoiled puppy in the making. How could you not. She is beautiful. Looks like she's going to heal very well.
I think people are the only animals who whine and complain about being cut open. Or at least some....... Cats and dogs seem to accept this as just another day in the life of....

ha! I agree! :-) The only attention she seems to pay it, is periodically she will stop and turn and look at her belly. Otherwise she pretty much ignores it. I am just glad we caught her before her first heat. She is almost 8 mos old and right in that prime stage. And she is definelty prissy, but she will learn to listen! ha! She has bad people manners at this point, but she's doing better.

Cute! She's probably trying to figure out just what happened and why her belly has this weird injury on it now.
I would love to be able to read animals minds. You just have to wonder what they are thinking sometimes.

Yeah, I'm sure Roscoe, our other dog, was thinking, "oh good, she's GONE." And then when she came back he prolly said, "."

i think they're the kind that go on the inside. My cats had that done when they had surgery

She has such a penetrating stare. Very lovely girl.

Yes, Frenchy, they are inside sutures. It makes for a very neat incision. And yeah, no stitches to remove, or worry about getting pulled out.

These are great ! I will have to talk to my vet to see if I can get him to do them this way.

yea that incision looks really good with inside stiches......hope my vet can do that for maggie.

It looks better and it has to be better safety wise, since the animals can't get hold of the stitches!

She is really pretty! In fact, her eyes are very close to my Dani's eyes, full of intelligence and love, so expressing ... if we could just figure out exactly what they are trying to convey to us ...

A real beauty!

Yes, she has a very expressive face. She knows how to perk her ears to her advantage too.

And the wound is very neat looking and no worries with stitches. It gets lumpy underneath from the inside sutures as they absorb, but that goes away with time. She is totally leaving her incision alone too, which is a good thing. She is so frisky though and wants to play with Roscoe so badly. They can be rough. But we're getting there! hehe

I love it when recoveries go smoothly! We have yet to have a 'stitchless' spay--our last spay was before they routinely started using the dissolvables... I love the idea of not having the itchy stitches on the outside. Do they somehow glue the external incision then?

It does appear to be glued. It looks too neatly closed.
