Hi Gang - Im a Newbie

OK, well I found this site on accident and what a great place. I live for my dogs. My wife and I have 3 Dogue de Bordeaux. We have Belleau and Tripoli who are sisters and will be 1 next month. We also have the crazy lady of the house Zoe. She is 1 1/2. We had never had Bordeaux until we got Zoe. We always had Golden Retrievers and lost both of our retrievers very close together. It was devastating......at that time i was done with dogs. Then i found Zoe....or should i say she found me. They are our life and we love them so much. Looking forward to using and contributing to the site.

Wow they are all stunning, question, how in the heck have you managed to keep peace in the house with 3 girls all the same age???? I say kinda risky. Not something I would ever attempt, but would love to hear how you have done so.
Aren't you worried about incidents?

We have not had a single incident due to having 3 girls. I can ot even remember 1 time that they have shown aggression to each other at all. They do love to rough house with each other and sometimes it gets a bit carried away and we have to settle them. I do know that it is surely possible though. The breeder that we dealt with on the 2 sisters has 6 Dogue de Bordeaux's of her own and she has to keep 2 of the seperated from each other. It could also be their age as they are so young. They have pretty much been together their whole lives except for the first 6 months we had Zoe. I will definetly keep my eyes open though.

Dummy me thought at first they were Mastiffs
They are beautiful though, love their mushy faces and wrinkles
I hope they will never, ever show any aggression towards each other, they seem to love each other a lot.

They are in the Mastiff Family. They are commonly referred to as a French Mastiff. Their true name though is a Dogue De Bordeaux. They were just accepted for showing this year by AKC. If youve seen Turner and Hooch, these girls are Hooches. I hate to tell people that because the movie was a good thing for the breed because it got them noticed. It was also probably the worst thing that happened to them as they started being bred by lets just say "less than scrupulous" breeders. They still struggle with this today and have lots of health issues due to a limited gene pool.

Your Dogues are stunning. They are probably my favorites in the Molassers although I do like the English Mastiffs as well but I'm a sucker for a really large dog!

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful ladies with us!

Glad to share more. My 3 favorites of Zoe are below. She was my first and is a true Daddys girl. Her an I share a secret that we agreed to the day i picked her up over 12 hours away from home. I was still missing my Goldens but promised her that she would be the best taken care of dog that she could imagine. I think i have lived up to my end as she is beautiful, she has her CGC and she is loved by our whole family. A LOT......

I will post my favorite 3 of Belleau next a she was our second.

Belleau was the next to come. She was the last girl to be picked and she actually picked us. I think she knew that we were to be her people. We dont own her....she owns us. Funny thing is that in talking with the breeder she is convinced that Belleau is the most conformationally correct. She is little...we call her Beannie.

Ancient girl is right--they do own us!

Perhaps I should change my signature from...dogs have masters, cats have staff to just MEET THE STAFF
