Stay strong.

Shirley...I'm still sending positive vibes your way...I he will be either photograhed,( which isn't the same like having him in your arms but still close enough to give you that extra hope), or caught by some lvoing people who know of his story...good luck

It is very possible the clumps of beige fur is his undercoat, with a coat like Sable's, if they are not brushed out then they accumulate in a clump, it even happens with our Basset Hounds....

Stop the rollercoaster...I need to get off....just had a call from the Mara Provincial Park that they had captured a dog...called me instead of OSPCA. I gave them the # and then found out Ramara Twp. animal control picked up the dog...but it is not Sable it is a King Shepherd...hope that is not what people are seeing.

I didn't know anything could be this stressful!

Shirley! I can not even imagine what you must be feeling! Rollercoaster! OMG!!! But I went back in this post to get a fresh look at Sable and isnt there a huge difference between her and a King Shep? and I noticed a post from Chris 21711 and maybe that is why you got the call..here is a caption of his post from back at the beginning..

I've mentioned before that my daughter works at the OSPCA here in York Region. She knows investigators in both Orillia and Barrie, maybe they will be a bit more co-operative if they get a request from one of their own. She is fully aware of Sable's plight and always asks for updates. She may be able to help.

Anyway...stay strong! There are so many people praying for your family!

Cindy

Awww Shirley,my heart went for a leap, when I first started reading and then:sad:
You are a very strong young lady,as is your love for Sable, the stress and ups and downs must do a number on you...but how do you give up on an animal you love, when is a long time too long
I don't think there is a timelimit, not until you find him one way or the other.
I wish people carried their cameras around everywhere like I do,the only way you can know for sure is seeing his picture, would that not be something!!
I someone will show you his pic

Thanks for the continued support and especially Chico..young lady...only wish I was...I'll soon be ready for the old age pension!
At least the King Shep. that was picked up today was described as a
well cared for and well fed dog. The dog at the casino described as thin and
mangy with the bunches of fur. The young girl from there called and said she still hasn't seen him since Saturday but is still watching and will get a picture when she does.

At least with today's rollercoaster ride, I was got in touch with the animal control at the Indian Reserve where the Casino is located and he was not aware of Sable's plight but said he would be sure to look for him on his rounds.

Well, at least you've got one more pair of eyes with the Reserve AC watching for Sable. I pray for the day when you are finally reunited. Sending more good luck your way.

you are definetly right, Shirley. It is stressful.
Even walking down the street. My eye goes to every single white dog..you probably stare at all the dogs that look liek Sable too.

Then going to all those animal shelters and those dogs are waiting to be picked up. It's silly but I just keep thinking "why havn't these ppl looked here yet!..your dog is RIGHT HERE!"..

lots of people know about Sable though...and I have a description and a link to one of the websites where he is posted on my group page for spencer. Lots of people see it..now they can look for sable too.

Shirley,I am a"young"63 a few aches and pains, but if it was about any of my animals, adrenalin would keep me going, with collapses in between.
I am glad you have an extra pair of eyes and a girl with a camera.
My son goes to a reservation regularly(cigs!),he says there are always plenty of dogs running around lose, could Sable possibly have joined them
As for giving encouragment,it's all we can do,keping the hope up until Sable is back home.

My daughter working at the OSPCA sadly didn't make any difference, I thought it could have helped. I think that the organizations that are paid for their animal control services should have websites like Toronto Animal Services, none of them do in our area. Seems like the dog at the Casino was definately not the one picked up. Your heart must have just leaped when you got the call Shirley, everyone I have told about your plight for Sable, admire your dedication, it will pay off in the end.

Hi Shirley

I sure admire your dedication as well
My daughter is attending YLCC camp in Orillia
off of Memorial Ave
Not sure if this is anywhere near the same areas you have been
looking
but I can ask the camp if that would help
I may be scooting up that way tomorrow as well
One of the sessions is a program where the groups
portage in the area so they groups are all around the lake
No tents but cabins and it is on lake Simcoe
Just thought it might help

Lynda

Lynda...that is exactly the area Sable has been seen is from Memorial Ave
over to the Lake and lastly across the bridge over the narrows at
Atherly toward Casino Rama.
Thank you for thinking of Sable and as many eyes looking will only add
to helping find him.
Thanks
Shirley

Thanks again to all of you who are keeping my faith in finding Sable.
I haven't had any calls in over a week until just now a 11:28. One from
a girl in Orillia...thinks she saw him on James St. near a church which is
the same area of town I have got them from before..It also leads to a
path that goes along the Lake.

Don't know if it was him or not but will check it out tomorrow.

Hi Shirley

No news from Orillia but the camp knows
Since I was there between sessions most of the senoir staff
were gonefor the day. I will email them his picture just in case the message wasn't passed on to everyone. There are a handful who live there year-round
so someone else may have seen him
Sorry I didn't have better news

Lynda

I had a call today that someone on the Indian Reserve at Rama thought they saw Sable..The caller was not the one to see him and wasnt sure of
where he had been seen.
The girl did call from the Casino tonight, 30 minutes after I left and said she
has a picture but I don't think it is him...haven't seen the picture..her phone died so she is sending it tomorrow...but from her description sounds like there is white on his face and Sable's face is very very dark.

I seem to want to think he is in Orillia...that is where the constant calls keep coming from and from a 1/2 mile radius. I will keep the ad going again this week and hope someone soon tries to catch up with him.

I don't think I ever posted in this thread. But I do read it, and I don't post because everytime I see you just put an update, I always think that's it , she found him. But then I read otherwise, and get too sad to post. :frown: I really do hope you find him , you are putting so much effort into this, how can this not work out.

No she didn't send me the picture. When I spoke with her the other night she said the dog she had the picture of had a lot of white on his face which Sable doesn't...his face is very dark and no white. Her battery was low and she said she would send it but I am sure she compared it to the colored picture that is in the employee lounge at the Casino.

I had a call last night but I'm not sure what to think of it..this lady said she hadn't seen the dog but several of her neighbors think they have seen Sable but that is in the Udney area which is only about 5 miles from the cottage but there are a lot of coyote/wolves in that area so I am waiting to get a name and phone number from one of the neighbors before I go up and check out the area. I will take lots of posters and talk with whoever I can in that area but I don't even have the exact location at this point
