Alberta Special Needs Rescue Needed!!!

Does anyone know of a special-needs dog rescue (or one that will take a special-needs dog) in Alberta, Canada? A dog missing his two hind paws needs help, and I am desperately seeking someone who can intervene....

Have you look at petfinder, all the listings for Alberta ? Check out the rescues , maybe one is for special need dogs. Where is the dog now ?

It is killing me. I can't do anything from here. I can't take him. I feel so helpless. I am distraught. This poor dog MUST find a new home that will care for him properly.

I have been posting, emailing all day. I think the word is spreading now...others are helping...I am starting to think that maybe he will get some help.

The owner of the dog still hasn't contacted me. It is very important he does before we can look for rescues to help. Too many times I did that and got a reply that the dog was already adopted.

Could someone give us an update? I live in Saskatchewan and would be able to make a drive to Calgary if necessary to help this poor guy out. I have a GSD right now that gets along with other dogs. If this dog is okay around cats I would be willing to look at taking him in if I thought he would be managable (i.e. wouldn't harm my cats, was content with being a "city" dog, etc).

I am sure that there is a rescue willing to take him and a fdoster home in place. This was as of yesterday afternoon.

Yes, things are looking promising. I should know in a few days how things turn out.

Can you tell us more about the dog, bendy? Was he well treated? Is he a happy dog despite his handicap?

A happy ending would also include it's previous owner being held accountable for neglecting this animal and causing its injuries.

Yes Rick,I agree 100%,but in our country it seems anything goes with an animal and more often than not goes unpunished
We can only hope this poor dog, whatever horror was inflicted on him, will find it in his doggie-heart to trust and love another human..hopefully there is someone out there who will give him a forever home
