If you absolutely need to give your pet up for adoption

If you absolutely need to give your pet up for adoption please read the post "can we help you keep your pet" first. There may well be a best or better solution for your pet in that post.

If there is no other alternative and you can't even find someone you know or someone you trust to adopt your pet then the SPCA, Humane societies and local rescue groups and shelters would be the best option. In order to find a rescue group in your area, use a search engine and search for your city (ie. dog rescue Toronto) AND in a separate search the breed of pet you have with your city (ie. Siamese cat rescue Toronto). Also try the search with the words shelter and humane society. You can also call your local SPCA or humane society for referrals.

We hope that helps - If others have suggestions and/or resources for this section, please forward them to the Admin.
