Urinary Problems

My 13 year old lab "ruhler" (female) is urinating or urine is leaking onto her leg while she sleeps. From the posts I've reviewed there is the possibility of a bladder problem. Anyone know what types of treatment are used for bladder/urinary problems?

Thanks in advance

You need to get her to the vet, who will check for a urinary infection. Is she spayed? Because sometimes spayed female dogs experience a hormonal imbalance which causes 'leaking'. It is easily controlled with medication.
Either way, the vet is your next stop.

Thanks Badger

I have made an appointment for Thursday. Thanks for advice. Hopefully, medications will do the trick.

If she does have spay incontinence, the two treatments most commonly used are either estrogens or phenylpropanolamine. Both have side effects so talk to the vet about which is right for your girl. We use the PPA with very good results.

Good luck at the vet on Thursday!
