Dear Canadians

Where do you all buy your pet food? Big box stores, the friendly pet store in your neighbourhood, or have it delivered right to your doorsteps?

I usually get it at PetValu now that I'm living in Ontario. Back home in Newfoundland, I have to get it from independently owned pet stores.

I have an independent pet store that specializes in premium/holistic foods (no animals) and I try to support him. He's local from my community and I believe in supporting that. He didn't have my brand at first but I asked for it and he brings it in now. Most of the big box stores don't carry the really good foods.

When we fed kibble, we went to our local Pitou Minou (aka Global to the rest of Canada). We also supported the smaller indepently run pet supply stores when we could. We feed raw now, so the grocery stores and butchers get our business!

Oops - but we still buy our canned cat food at the Pitou Minou! I read the OP as dog food (not pet food!)

An independent, local store that has higher quality foods and does not sell pets. They also have great prices and are actually cheaper than the big box stores!
