Tug of war
Hi Everyone,
My dog Gifford likes to play tug of war with a rope on a tennis ball. Gifford is just 3 and is a poodle mix and his teeth are solid. Sometimes when we play he really pulls and I am just wondering if maybe his teeth might become less solid from this play. Am I worrying for nothing or will this make his teeth even stronger? Thank-you Everybody |

I had a Standard Poodle and I pulled tug of war with him ,his teeth were fine . I think it might of helped my arm get stronger b/c damn my dog could really pull! One dog trainer said they didn't think it was a good idea to play tug of war with your dog b/c it would made them aggressive .

I think its a great way to burn some energy! I have played this with my dog and past dog and it was not an issue for the teeth. The important thing is to make sure they understand the command to let it go whether that be drop it or leave it or whatever they should know to stop immediately. Mine would tug a bit, I would release, they would go play and then come back for you to tug again.
