Found kitten and need advice

Hello, I'm new here. I have a question about a kitten my family has found. It was unhealthy skinny and had an eye infection. We've got it a little more fattened up and eye infection cleared up but I've just noticed the cats missing most of its teeth and her bottom jaw and lip swells. Not sure if its an infection or if its due to her being unhealthy skinny or the reason it lost its teeth. She's also missing the tips of her ears. I think she was abused but not sure. Right now we don't have money to take her to the vet. I just want to get the swelling down on her chin but not sure how. Also I think the cats ears need cleaned but not sure how to go about that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Is there any animal shelter near you , maybe they treat the kitten for free or little cost . Or try looking for an low-income vet near you .

Some posted they went the Humane Society in Ottawa for a cat they found , you see if one is here you.

First off, welcome to the forum!
For ear cleaning - here a thread that may help http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=56035

For swelling - it's all about what's causing the swelling. Given what you are describing, it's likely the cat may need (at least need)antibiotics....but a vet needs to see it.

Barkingdog has a great idea about shelter vets...Good luck!

Thank you

I've looked online for low income vets in Oshawa and can't find any close enough and I called animal shelters and animal services and all they said they would do is pick up the cat and put it a shelter but if it needs medical care and no one will pay for it if its bad enough they will have to uthonize it they weren't very helpful.

Are there any Petcos out your way , did you call a vet and see if they'll let made a payment plan , there has to be one vet around that will help the poor little kitty . Or the ACO may be able to help . You could bring the kitty to a vet and say you found it but can't afford the vet bills but will be willing to help it get better . And see what happen .

I don't think we have a petco but a petsmart. Not sure if they are the same. I've been calling all diffrent places and not getting much info if anyone lives around oshawa please help if you know a vet who is decent with pricing or a place which may help. I think someone knew what was wrong with the kitten and ditched it or what my neighbors think is an elderly women was evicted that lived two streets back and had 20 cats and they didn't catch them all.
