Talking We are going to be doggy parents!!

Nathan and I got the call this evening that we were chosen to be the forever home (with one week trial first) of Whisper, from this thread http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread....hlight=whisper

We're so frickin' excited. We pick her up on Sunday, so tomorrow we will be doing some serious shopping!!

We're first time doggy parents, so there will be lots and lots of questions, be forewarned!

I'm just so excited I can't even think straight!

That is so cool, Stacer!!! Melinda must be very relieved, too, that Whisper is getting such a great home! Whisper sounds like such a great dog!

Congrats Stacer ....I somehow missed the other thread.

Even though you are a first time "doggy" owner, I'm sure you will have Whisper filled out in no time. Looking forward to lots of new pics.

That's wonderful. That poor girl! Not that you're her new mommy, but I just saw her pictures! You need to fatten her up for sure.

I'm looking forward to some pictures of her soon.

Thanks everyone. We're so happy that we could give Whisper a good home. There will be a learning curve for us, but that's what all of you are here for!

I'll probably start posting pics immediately when we get home tomorrow! I think we'll document her journey home in photos.

I still feel like it's a dream. I hope she likes us

Melinda says that Whisper is around 43 lbs and needs to build muscle mass, So lots of walks and activity, but not too much, lot of love and good food.

We've located all the dog parks around us, and we have plans for a trip up to the family cabin in May that we hope she'll enjoy. We've got big plans for this girl.

I've heard of Woofstock, maybe we'll have to check it out.

Melinda you should be soooo PROUD! You are Whispers Angel! Just to think you have made such a difference in her life must be truly amazing! and the best part is knowing you were able to send her off to her forever home! It will be a sad day too! but its also so great!

Cindy

P.S I am curious how you chose the name Whisper? Did it have some special meaning?

Wow - I had missed both threads!

Congrats Stacer! Other than the fact that she has some fattening up to do, she sounds like an awesome first dog, and she's absolutely gorgeous!

Can't wait to see tons and tons and tons of pictures!

I missed the second part of Whisper's story!! Congratulations, and yes, pics pics and more pics!! It's not all that hard to be a doggy-parent, just the pulling on the leash, the barking at wrong hours, the poop-picking, the drooling/slobber on your best clothes ... other than that, no sweat oh yeah, the ocasional vet bill
