Judith's progress
Well, I spent the entire day at the hospital with Judith yeaterday, while James and my mother did some shopping and got the house spic and span. The have started to wean her off from her oxygen and nitric oxide, and she was strong enough to where they could lay her on her side. We are heading back to the hospital here in about 15 minutes. I will keep on posting her progress in this thread.

Thanks for the updates! How far is the hospital from your home? You'll be seeing improvements every day and before you know it, she'll be ready to come home! Waiting is the hard part :sad:

The hospital is only about half an hour away. James and I would have gone to see her earlier today, but we had to get things done around home. We spent the day searching for a washer and dryer, building a dog house, and trying to find a good mechanic to fix my mother's van. She has to drive my sisters back home for school next week, and then head right back down. But I have called the hospital to check up on her, from time to time, today, and everything is going well.

We got back from the hospital about 2 hours ago. She has made more progress. They have taken Judith off from her ventilator, and put her under an oxygen tent. Her nurse said that thei should be moving her out of the PICU in a couple of days. I will be posting one of her lastes pictures.

How precious....Congrats on Judith, you must (understandably) be a very proud Mommy, best of luck.

Judith has left the ICU this afternoon, and is completly off from oxygen now. All she is one is a feeding tube, IV and heart monitor. From the sounds of it, she may come home this weekend.

Oh that is wonderful news. You have been in our prayers all the time. I am so happy for you, she is such a pretty little girl. Just think of all the boys you will have to beat of of her. LOL She is a cutie! Give her love from all of us.

Lilith,I could be wrong,it's been over 40yrs since I had my first baby,but she does not have that new-born look,she's just beautiful :love:
I am so happy she's coming home soon it's scary,but ohhhh so wonderful :love: a little bundle of love!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been stying at the hospitl with Judith. We were trasnfered to another hospital, being that all we need t work on is her eating. This hospital has internet, so I figured I would post a message saing that she gets discharged on Wednesday. However, due to the fact that there is mold and lead paint in the house, we are working on getting a new house at the moment, and if we don't have one by the time she is discharged, Judith and I will be staying at the Ronald McDonald house here in DC.

I will be at home this weekend, to help James start packing up the house. From the sounds of it, we will have a new house within a week. So I will try to post a newer picture of Judith.

Thx for the update! Glad to hear things are still progressing well. I hope they are treating you well there - don't forget to ask as many questions as possible and be a great advocate for your little girl! And as I said befire, look after YOURSELF too - you must be tired! I hope you find a new home soon and do not have to stay at the Ron McD House even if it is great resource. (We have one at "my" hospital too). We also a Care by Parent unit where the moms stay with the babies at the hospital 24/7 and many parents prefer that to leaving their children. (Mind you, there are no Care by Parent units for any of the ICU's)

Well, the nurses at the hospital suggested for me to take the weekend off, so James and i could get things done around the house, and so I could also rest up some. I will be going back to the hospital Monday afternoon.

Judith is doing so good. Yesterday she started thumb sucking and her first smile James got to witness. It was when he held her after birth. Cutest smile ever. Today when James came to pick me up today, I was giving Judith a bottle, and he also fed her for a while, and ended up spitting up on him. He didn't like that too much. LOL

I can't think of anything else that has changed....... I will post if I do think of something.

So good to hear everything is going great for you guys!! Hopefully you find a house and get moved in ASAP so you can start living life as a family . Judith is absolutely adorable. You and James must be so proud!
