Urgent-I know a lot of you rescue, does anyone know of a Bulldog Rescue in Edmonton?

I have a neighbor who has the sweetest little bulldog, it's Nanooks buddy. I won't go in to all the details here, but I urgently need to find a rescue that will take him. If anyone knows of any resources in this area, please PM me. I have googled but have had no luck with bulldog rescue.

Thanks

Robyn

Do you have the dog until a rescue can be found? I hate to think the dog is being mistreated if that's the reason

No, we can't take him. Our oldest, Thorin, has cancer and gets stressed out very easy. We can't risk his health. The Bulldog is not being mistreated, but is at risk of going to the SPCA very soon and desperately needs medical attention. He is just the sweetest pup. We would take him if we could, but he has some health issues and we just aren't financially (or emotionally) able to take him on, even if we didn't have Thorin

Thank you so much Jill! I spoke with Mary and she is helping me. The neighbor is going to transfer ownership to me so I can surrender him. Thank you again!!

Thank you Mirela

I took him to Washington last month to have a lung tumor removed. We were told if it was primary, it should be curative and all would be well. But it wasn't. He has a rare form of cancer, Malignant Histiocytosis. He has anywhere from 1-9 months depending on whether it's localized or disseminated. We chose not to put him through the staging as it would be almost as bad as the surgery he had to remove his lung lobe and it won't help with the actual prognosis. We will just love him while we can.

I know things are tough for you right now. I lit a prayer pet candle the other night for you and your fur kids. I wish you were not hurting so much right now.

Awww... thank you so much Shay!!
I think as long as I have animals, I'll always hurt. It seems no matter what, hubby and I always end up with the special needs ones. It's either give up on having them, or learn to live with it and just take one day at a time. I'm learning to live with it because I don't think I could live happy without them
I know there's a lesson in here somewhere for us, just wish I knew what it was lol

Rgeurts, I was just reading through this thread. So sorry to hear such sad news about Thorin. I so understand the soul dog issue. My heart goes out to you and I pray that you will all enjoy the time you have left. Between being in God's hands and yours we know Thorin will enjoy the time he has left. to your and all of yours. And bless you for helping the bulldog, there's a special place in heaven for people like you.

Thank you so much DD
Thorin is my giant stuffie, my cuddlebug. I'm hoping and praying we will have the 9 months, or longer. We are taking him to Dr. Marsden now as well. Between him and Nookie, the bills are HUGE, but so very worth it. The holisitic treatments have worked miracles for Nookie, so we're hoping it can do the same for our Thorin. As for helping the bulldog, I didn't really do much except make some phone calls, so nothing hard there lol. Nookie will really miss him though. They have been buds for more than 6 months now
