anyone in edmonton, alberta feed raw?

hi,

i'm new to the forum and just wanted to ask a few questions.
i live in edmonton, alberta and my partner and i own a miniature poodle that is on the raw diet. soon we are going to be getting another dog but this time bigger. does anyone here live in edmonton, alberta that feeds raw? (and not the prepackaged patty kind). where do you get your meat? we usually get the chicken drumsticks from superstore but as this dog will weigh about 5x more it will get to be too expensive!. i've tried contacting people who deliver in bulk but most of them sell the ground up meat.
i would love any advice or recommendations!.

I don't live in Edmonton but I suggest you look in the Yellow Pages for "meat/poultry distributor" or "wholsaler." Many places will sell to the public if it's in large quantities and if you can pick it up.

Another suggestion would be to look around for farmers that raise beef, chickens, etc and ask if they would sell to you as well.

I live not too far from Edmonton so I may be able to help.
Are you able to travel? I believe you may have better luck going through a smaller butcher, perhaps in one of the surrounding towns (millet, beaumont).

I have some friends that feed raw, I will ask them where they get their meat but I likely wont have a response for you until later tonight when everyone gets off of work.

Have you decided on what kind of dog and where to get it? If not I would like to reccomend the McDonald Family rescue. They are a great bunch of people that work really hard to save ALL animals, very knowledgable. I highly suggest them for your new pet.
