Ever since he got over his scabies, he always had naturally soft fur, like Oksana. (Oksana's fur is unbelievably soft). I have noticed his fur seems to feel slightly more oily though. I'm thinking it might be part of that detoxing i read about. He's only been on it fully for a week, so I'm hoping the detox will be be finished and his fur will be nice and soft again.

A setback

Well, for a couple of weeks I had Maks on raw and he was enjoying it. I decided to give beef a try and he hated it. Didn't have but a few bites then started eating Kiska's food. I went back to the Lamb, but he's not eating it with the same gusto he was. He eats a little bit of it then walks away and leaves it. Doesn't come back to it at all.

On the up side, I've finally been able to get the rest of the gang completely off of the Fancy Feast! They are all eating Wellness grain free. Since Maks has turned his nose up to the raw, he's also eating the Wellness. So I can't complain, since it's taken me what seems like forever to get them off of FF and fully on Wellness.

I wouldn't call it a setback. He is on Wellness which is great! Maybe not as great as raw but better than FF.
I wish I could afford to feed my guys that but man, way too much!!! I have got my little tyke on Eagle Pack and he is turning his nose up at that and eating the cheaper stuff (FF) the others get. Little begger.
Keep up the good work!! Is Czarina getting Wellness too?

Yeah, he really likes the Wellness, like the others so it's not all bad. When I was feeding them FF I always got the wheat gluten free kind and in the grand scheme of things, out of all the less expensive foods, I think that was the best I could find.

Czarina eats Innova dry. Since she's still outside. I'm bringing her in on Saturday afternoon. She's going to get a quick check up at the vet and a bath, since she's absolutely filthy The last time I had her inside she didn't much like the canned, but I can try giving it to her this time around to see if she takes to it.

That's too bad. The foster kittens won't eat kibble, I tried some orijen for them so they would have something to munch on through out the day, but they sniffed it and ignored it for days. Raw is what they prefer but will eat Kitten Wellness canned.

I am trying to get Sweet Pea on raw now. Left her a spoonful beside her Organics by Nature this morning so I'll see if she eats any through out the day. She was eating it when she was nursing so I know she'll eat it if she is hungry enough.

I think the beef just really turned him off. Up to that point, he was really enjoying it and would finish the lamb I'd put down for him.

I'm not going to force him. I'll give him the wellness, because at least I know that's good for them all. And later I can always try it again. Maybe he just needs to forget he didn't like the beef then he will give it another try.

How many medalions was he eating a day?

My foster kittens who are about 2 lbs now will eat:14 medalions, and almost two cans of kitten wellness (tiny FF size cans). So thats 3.5 medalions each and half can Wellness per day.

He was having about 5 a day, which is what the package said to give him according to his weight. He's about 9 pounds. I've still got to get my hands on a scale for them. I'd been wanting to monitor his and Vlad's weight.

That's what I thought a full grown cat would eat. These kittens are only 2 lbs and they eat as much as a full grown cat! There poor momma would not be able to hunt enough for these guys!

They have good appetite. Maks has always been a big eater too. I think he eats more than Vlad even.
