this was Iggy the resident Iguana he sat at the top of the resprt overlooking the hillside and his home was a large drainage area..and a pretty butterfly

a common animal there was called a kudimondo...they look like a racoon with a ant eater nose and a monkey tail....they would visit you at night or out in daylight around the pool!

 I'd so love to go there! Loved the iguanas! And your fuzzy visitor!  Dang, they're cute!!! Any idea what kind of hummer that was? The larger blue and white birds like the one on the rail are White-throated Magpie Jays, I think...  Can't wait to hear (and see) more about your trip!!

Great pics, Cindy.
Beautiful scenery. Love the pics of the critters at Jurassic Park. That raccoon like critter is certainly an interesting fellow. Glad you enjoyed your vacation. Costa Rica looks like a beautiful place to spend a holiday.

They were very friendly honestly...DH was trying to scare him away and he was reacting to that!
The big Iguana they called BIG DADDY...it was mating season and he had himself all decked out!

Will the iguanas let you touch them or will they bite?
I love the feel of beaded skin! But I can see where a whole bunch of humans wanting to pet them would be a tad annoying to them....

I touched one of their tails and it was hard and weird ...he wasnt impressed! they were quite friendly but I wouldnt want to touch them anywhere near their mouth!

That croc is alarming! Looks big!!! Him I wouldn't want to touch, though I'm sure he feels lovely.

I had to look a few times to see the bats! Very cool. All the pics are great. When we were in Mexico last month they had the grackles all over the place. I had asked one of the waiters at the hotel what type of bird they were and he said they call them "Nothing Birds" because they're good for nothing! I had to search it at home to get the name. We had the iguanas there too, they were very cool.
