It is for an occasional treat only. I have given my cats a tuna treats all their lives.

I give mine human tuna once in a while, but I buy the stuff packed in water and I give it a wash with warm water when I open the can. Human tuna has a lot of sodium so it's best not to give it to them a lot.

Something I have found mine LOVE is Solid Gold blended tuna

It's tuna and it is better for them because it doesn't have the added sodium. I give this to mine 2 or 3 times a month, and they devour it!

Partly depends on the cat. As a treat no more than once a week, it should be fine. But if you have a cat with allergies or prone to bladder/urinary tract problems or has kidney disease, or is heading towards a tuna-addiction, I'd say no. Here is some info on that:

Oh! I'm glad I asked. I didn't realize it provoked urinary tract infections among other problems. Thank you. The kitties thank you in the long run too, lol. Cala and Boo.
