Ontario Holiday
Hey Guy's,
We live in Regina but are going to Ontario for three weeks this summer. We have a cabin booked on Pickeral River for a week and then heading to St.Catharines (my home town.Bin 14 years),but we have a three year old female American Pitbull that we just could not leave for three weeks. Is there any way around the Pitbull ban down there? We would rather cancel the trip, than not take Mazzie with us. Thanks for any reply's. Coop |

oh man, I'd be worried, especially if anyone called the spca on you or police, if you do bring her, make sure she's spayed, on a six foot leash and wearing a muzzle. She can be removed from your possesion and there isn't a thing you can do about it. I wish you luck.

I agree with Melinda, your dog is considered illegal here in Ontario and AC has the right to confiscate your dog.

You need to find alternate arrangements for her. A 3yr old pit is illegal in Ontario and can be seized on sight by ac, taken away from you and put down. If you can't prove she has been living in Ontario since before the ban came into effect in 2004 (or 5?), it would only take one pissed off neighbour and she would be dead. Is that worth the risk to you?

Adding my voice to the other cautions. Not worth the risk to bring her. All it takes is one crackpot to complain and then authorities would have to act. I'm in Ontario.
How about an article to a paper in Sudbury or North Bay? St. Catherines too. Tourism Dollars Lost Due to potential vacationers' fear of bringing their beloved Pit type dog with them on holiday to this province. Have decided to go where their dog is welcome or stay home. |

It sux but i agree with the other members.
If the place is really private then maybe you can get away with it but it's a big big risk.

There's no way in heck I'd be placing my pet in that type of danger. Sorry, I'd change my plans and go elsewhere or make alternate arrangements for my dog.
