Thanks Poodletalk,

The barn life would be for Thelma and/or Louise. If he has room for both, I'd rather keep them together but i'll settle for anything. Also they would need to remain confined for at least 6 months to prevent their escape.

Thanks Poodletalk, I'll check back daily.

Inverness, good thing Toulouse is in your hands now and finally safe and warm.

Inverness, did the vet give you an estimate of Toulouse's age?
I know blood panels are expensive, but was he tested for FIV, etc?
Poor baby, I was hoping it was herpes which, while not pleasant, eventually resolves. And, of course, I wonder now if I had gotten to him sooner...
Thank you Inverness (and everyone who pitched in), and thank you to the kind woman who is adopting him, of course her love will be returned a thousandfold. As Chico says, tissue time!

Sorry to hijack here, on to the next rescue eh?

No Chico, rhino is not serious. He will need to take antibotics and stay away from other cats since it's contagious. Rhino is like a cold in cats and it's airborne.

Nearly all the stray and abandoned cats get rhino (upper respiratory infection) once rescued. It can be serious or even fatal in tiny kittens or old or sick cats. It usually needs no treatment in healthy adults and passes in about two weeks, unless secondary infection occurs.

My two 6 month old fosters here had it when I got them and they were sneezing blood all over the place.

Catsnatcher,

It looks like the cat my dogwalker found will be going to the farm! I will ask my vet on Saturday if she knows anyone else who has a heated barn.

What a sweet picture. And all those lovely windows! I forgot to tell you, Inverness, he is very fond of canned food. I never once got him to eat crunchies, even Wellness.

Inverness, yes, the situation with so many others is heartbreaking,it seems a never ending story:sad:
45 cats in Lancaster,Catsnatchers poor cats and I am sure a thousand others, but to see Toulouse safe is still a great feeling..
I also wish I could be more pro-active,was younger, could have more than my own 3 cats:sad:
