Well, let's put it gently. Your cat's hormones are in overdrive. Her body is saying she needs to mate. Just like for humans if your cat can't get gratification it is uncomfortable. And this doesn't happen just once and it's done. It will happen again and again every few weeks until the urge to mate has been taken away by spaying.

Just a few sites where you can research this.

PLEASE get your kitten to the vet and get her fixed asap. The world is already overburgeoned by unwanted/unneeded kittens. Please don't let her mate to satisfy any need you may think she has to be a mom. She doesn't really want to have that responsibility. You will be doing your kitten a huge favour.

Not only is she uncomfortable, the risk of her trying to get outside to find a mate is much, much higher. I know you care for you kitty and wouldn't want her to run away, so please talk to your vet about getting her spayed as soon as possible.

When I was young, we had cats who went into heat...back then, spaying/neutering wasn't really a thought. I used to feel so sorry for those kitties  and since I became an adult, my kitties have been spayed...it's not fair for them to have to go throguh that if they aren't being bred and I just can't see a reason to breed when there are so many cute little faces to pick from at shelters. If cost is an issue, most shelters and some vets do have either a sliding scale or financial assistance...that in itself should say how important it is to spay/neuter.

Well this is my mom's cat, not mine, mines just a wee baby
She has an appointment on the 20th this month for it, we can't handle it, I've been up since 3:00am this morning. I just wish it were getting done sooner.

How long do they go on like this, it started on Saturday

I am glad to hear you are getting her spayed.

Heat cycles are different for every cat. Sweet Pea was pretty much in continuous heat while we were waiting for her to wean her kittens and her milk to dry up so we could spay her.

If I remember correctly your "wee baby" will need to get fixed asap. They should be fixed before they have their first heat. Preferably around 4 to 6 months old. Check with your vet to see when it can be done. Your kitten didn't look that small when you posted pics a couple of months back. I am sure she has gotten bigger since.

As to how long..... if you read the sites I took the time to look up for you it tells you in them.
