German Shepherd Needs home

I am a very large boned sable German Shepherd *itch. I am spayed and
believe it or not but I'm only 9 months old. My owners dumped me at the
SPCA Monteregie about two months ago cause they didn't want me any more. I
am very friendly and would love a forever home where I could be your best
friend and learn whatever you wanted to teach me. I'm good with other dogs
and cats. I do need a bath and a good brushing!
For further information please email me for more details.

She certainly is a unique girl! I've never seen a brindle GSD before!!

For all the people viewing this thread, I'd like to ask a question on their behalf:

Will a shelter transport a dog (or cat for that matter) from one Province to another if a suitable home is found?

It depends on the shelter, some will some won't. Unfortunately here in BC it varies place to place

fyi

Just some information. SPCA Monteregie is not rescue friendly. They will place their own dogs and some have been there a very long time. I know a group of ladies pulling GSD's from there and they have paid full adoption fees on three so far. Whereas, in most of Ontario, if you are a rescue, they will be more than happy to release the dog free of charge. Of course, if it's a purebred dog which has a record of easy placement, some of the Ontario branches will first try on their own then contact when having no success. As far as transport goes, I believe you must show up in person for the dog. Ontario, many of the HS's staff members are more than happy to drive 4 hours to meet someone helping out. It would be great if the same policies could be across the board but they don't appear to be presently.
