Shortage of ladybugs this year is contributing to an explosion in the aphid population. We had loads of them earlier in the spring, but have since had an influx of ladybugs and they're under control again. They really are annoying plant sucking pests.

Lady bugs like to have a water supply and food (aphids). That said I don't know how to attract them to the yard. I did buy a bag of ladybugs a couple years ago and then I left trays of water out around all the plants I wanted them to hang out on. It worked well, but eventually many will fly away.

You can buy a bag of ladybugs? learn new things every day...

Where can i get them? i have got to try... there are just so many aphids and my city garden is so small that every few flowers that they eat means a big chunck of my garden is done with...

Here's a page from a Canadian government website about how to control aphids.

Many neat ideas!

We get them on our bushes up here and I just spray a hard spray of water on them and that kills them as they are soft bodied.
