If it was, ethically they should have stated that right up front. As it is, the write-up really casts doubt about the accuracy of the results.

Ah but see it doesn't say what food they were feeding before the study & throughout the life of the cat. Cuz you know if they were eating H!**'s to start with it, all the crappy ingredients & recent toxic ingredients might have caused the cognative dysfunction to start with

OMG if Hill's found an ingredient that improves cognitive function "Over 70 percent said their cats had improved cognitive function,” people who have dementia should be eating it..........hmmmmm......I could see people feeding this to humans with dementia after reading this!

I like this quote:

"The j/d food should not, however, be given to younger cats as a dementia preventative, Gunn-Moore says, because it contains far too much fat and protein."

Ummmmm Shouldn't older cats get less fat? Doesn't this contradict their senior food????

Not sure if they've done the studies in cats, but interestingly I believe I've seen a writeup of human trials where a diet high in fat and protein seemed to help in some cases of dementia. My memory is shaky at the best of times, but I wonder if it had something to do with refurbishing the insulative coat on the neuron axons and dendrites? (Maybe that diet is something I should try to boost my own memory )
