10yr old Boxer with Heart Problems

My inlaws have a 10 year old Boxer (Murphy), she is overweight and has an enlarged heart. This summer at the offleash park she was walking along and then staggered and almost passed out. Recently these episodes have been getting more frequent.

She has been to the vet, they've prescribed blood thinners. I think his mom said it was Supraventricullar Tachycardia?.

They took back to see the Vet on boxing day to up the dosage of her medication because she had threee episodes where she collapsed.

These people are planning on going on vacation and putting the dogs (they have another younger boxer) in a kennel. The vacation isn't until the end of february, but i guess what i want to know is if anyone has gone through this kind of thing and how long the dog lived before it's heart just stopped working.

Is the poor younger boxer going to have to go to a kennel alone? Is Murphy going to die at the kennel?
