Abandoned kittens

I work in an elementary school and yesterday afternoon during daycare time I heard a ruckus outside my office window and my name being called. I got up from my desk to see two crowds of kids following two of the educators and kids screaming "kittens". I went outside right away and quickly found out some of the kids playing hide and seek found two tiny kittens under the garbage can. The kids were going nuts, everyone wanted to touch and hold them so I quickly scooped them out of the educators arms and brought them into my office. I am no expert on kittens but I estimated them to be about 4-5 weeks old. I planned on taking them home myself until I could find them homes but fortunately two families who had recently lost their cats due to old age decided they would adopt them.
I guess whoever dumped them knew that they would be found in a busy school yard.

A school yard would be a likely place to drop off kittens, but if they are only 4-5 weeks old the owners could have at least waited another 2-3 weeks. But I guess if their careless enough to drop off kittens, they're not going to care about separating them too early. A frequent drop off place that really burns me up is at restaurants. I have gone through at least 3 drive throughs this spring only to see cats living off the food in restaurant dumpsters, I'm sure they were dropped off when they were little, the owners assuming someone would find and take them. Idiots. I tried to go back with food to evaluate how wild they were, but they only take off. Its a sight thats hard to forget.

A happy ending to a sad story.

So glad you were able to find homes for these kitties.

Do you think they were dumped, or could Mum be around somewhere, coppperbelle?

I'm so glad they have a safe home now!
