My cat attacks her reflection

(Tried to post this yesterday, but something seems to have gone wrong)
I have an 8-year-old two-tone Harlequin tabby named Layla, who has just started getting freaked out by her reflection in every reflective surface in the house (mirrors, glass patio door, stove door etc. etc.).
This was amusing the first couple of times, but now my wife and I have become a bit concerned: it's as if she's tormented. Every time she sees her reflection, she screams, hisses and tries to fight with the "other" cat.
This has been going on pretty constantly for a week, and I'm hoping it's just a passing phase. Anyone have any insight on this?

Bernie
