They are so cute, I inquired about fostering at our spca but they said you can only foster if you are intending to keep the dog. So I guess fostering is out for us right now.

LOL Isn't that called "adopting" then? That's really weird.

Thats what I thought. I would love to foster a female adult dog but I guess it probably wont happen. I dont know if I am ready for a second dog but could see me giving one a home temporarily and it would give me some idea how we would do with two dogs in the house.

BMDlover, that would be great, maybe they can post pics as they grow.
A family up the street from me was fostering an older black Newf and also had an adopted pup lab/NewfX,he looked just like these two sweeties. The Newf has a new home, the pup is now 1yr old and no more has the fluffy, thick coat, but a silky long coat..looks like Boo,with long hair, but he has really long legs.Extreemly obedient and weel behaved.

See the size difference? I don't know if you'll be able to tell from the pics but I swear, they're growing like weeds. (Both are Kerry, by the way) It sucks because I couldn't get the pics to be the same size..

Oh wait! I forgot another Doo...
Doolin discovered how to get on the Boo futon all by himself. I caught him looking all proud of himself. Kerry has moved on though.. She still loves the futon, but she discovered how to get up on our bed. It was only a matter of time though- it's lower to the ground than the futon. Look at him, all proud! |

Hey!!! Nice to "meet" you. You both are so lucky and you don't even know it. I'm glad to see you're a night owl, because these buggers get a jolt of energy from about 1AM to 2AM...

We are lucky and we are just lovin these guys already. We can' t wait to kiss their bellies!
I know you must be concerned about us....so let me tell you a little about us. We have three oldies now: Harley a rescue Rottie we got from an abuse case. We've had him for 8 years, he's 10. He had a stroke last year and it left him a little off balance and somewhat the goofball. But we love him. Katie, my sweet GSD she's 9 and we just found out she has heart disease, but we haven't told her yet so she's not showing any signs of it. And Charlie, our 8 yr old St. Bernard/Lab Mix, he's a honey...lost his tail as a pup so he kinda looks like a bear. We also have 2 cats now, Ernie(4) and Miss Kitty(18). We lost our old lady, Tiger (21) last year. We've had pets as our family (no kids) all of our 26 years together and we have our share of fur babies waiting for us at the Bridge. Too much more to tell here and am not sure if this is the place. Like I said I'm new to this forum stuff but am a quick learner |

LOL It's best not to post the really personal info, but after being here a while, you kinda forget...
These babies are a ton of work... They make me never want to have skin babies. About 80% of the day, they're great but that last 20%, they overload me with work. They pee on a cycle, it seems- so there'll be none for a while and then rivers everywhere! And they taught me one important lesson: NEVER move a pee pad. Once you put it down, there always has to be one there. I still haven't gotten them to pee outside. They're still too new at the whole outdoors thing. Kerry plays outside but Doolin... well... if he's not just sitting there, he might be wandering slowly, but that's about it. I was so glad to hear you won't be using crates too. These two would do pretty badly in a crate, even though in the beginning they loved it. Now, just to get them in my laundry room before I leave for school is a real chore. I have to bribe them with Jemma and Boo's food. They love the food so much, they fall for it every time. But they really need to be free and just to be around. They don't have to be in the same room as you, but the minute you close a door and they're on the other side of it (even if it's the bigger side) they start to cry quietly. I just hope their neutering goes smoothly. Both got a little sniffly from the bordetella vaccine, but they seem ok... It comes and goes a little bit. They're so loving though. Doolin's got a bit of attitude and I'm sure he'll show you when he gets settled in. Kerry is the barker. Doolin is the whiner/wuss. He's so sensitive. Kerry needs some alone time from Doolin because he can be too much for even her... But seriously, for puppies, these two are so laid back. Aside from my coffee table and some shoe laces (and a lot of newspaper) these two haven't really chewed anything substantial. So much to say! Last edited by Prin; February 10th, 2006 at 02:00 AM. |
