lol we can share. If you're not allowed a whole dog and I'm not allowed a whole dog, maybe we can get a half dog each. (They're all pressuring me in the threadjack thread, so I'm gonna hide out here. I do want him, but I might have to find a new boyfriend if I get him...).

I came across a white dobe on petfinder last week and just had to inquire.

He was bit in he head by a snake, burned with cigars and starved. He is now healthy and coming to live with us the weekend of the american thanksgiving.

Say hello to Adonis...my petfinder dream dog now reality

This picture is him in the shelter before going to foster. You can see the burns and the snake bite on his head. He is still in Kentucky, but being transferred to Indiana and then Michigan for thanksgiving..then on to Ontario.

he's beautiful... looks like a proper dobie (minus the color of course), good ear crop, nice feet... how can a "rare" animal like that end up in the hands of such criminals? was he rescued from a bad situation, or dumped, or surrendered, or... what is his story? to you for giving him the forever home he deserves

If you search some of the Ohio pounds believe me if you can arrange transport or get there they will let you adopt with no real questions asked , because of the large numbers they simply euthanize any that do not get adopt within a few days, some can wait a little longer if they have the roomthey will hold them for a few extra days if you seriously want a need to wait till the weekend to go there And the adoption fees are very low around $60 dollars including neutering, some don't offer neutering , you just need to ask them to have them vaccinated if you are bring them across the border some have low cost spays and neuters, which I simply had put on my credit card, I had went down to one where I got my now granddog Lucy and 3 beagles for a Toronto rescues.

The pounds unlike the shelters or spca's only will hold dogs for a few days, the state requires them to hold the dogs for 3 days and that is all the money they are given for food if they have donations they may be able to hold dogs a bit longer

I try not to look at the pounds here too often after trying to get a younger greyhound into a rescue , paying to extended her stay and failing and learning she was euthanized.

Though improving slowly with more rescues and shelters in Ohio still quite bad

This is just a list of the very high kills, from reading I guess the gas chambers still exist and are in use in Ohio

Right now the Portage County Dog Pound has 6 Labrador Retriever,Saint Bernard St. Bernard Mix puppies also have
a young greyhound a coonhound a beagle, a lab and a chow chow mix
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/OH184.html

The Adams counties pound still gases dogs to euthanize but tries to work with rescues to save the ones they can http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/OH505.html

This pup that someone posted earlier is in one of the high kill pounds (sigh)
