Need Help Finding The Right Cat Breeds For Me!

Hi! My name is Zaid and i am interested in getting a cat and am hoping for some help finding the right breed for me! I am looking for an indoor cat that can be left alone while i am at school. Needs to be shorthaired (I have a problem with shedding) and would be good for someone new to taking care of cats. Thanks!

Note: Have been thinking of getting manx or american shorthair after some researching, want to hear your opinions!

A common domestic shorthair would fit what you are looking for, in terms of short fur, and be very easy to find . However, as a warning, all cats shed, and need to be brushed regularly to keep loose fur under control. Honestly, my shorthairs seem to shed almost more than the long furred cat. (Although maybe it's just that brushing the tangles out of long fur gets loose hair out at the same time.)
If you are investigating Manx cats be sure you are well aware of possible health problems. The same gene that causes no tail, can also cause other health problems as well. Not in all Manx cats, but in some, it can cause problems.

Have you thought of checking out a shelter there a lot kitten and older cats waiting for new home. They might have a cat that uses to being alone and just love to sleep all day.
