What breed is Madison?

Hello all!

Just adopted this lovely 6 months old girl from a rescue group. They say that she is a border collie mix. Just curious as to what is the other side of the mix. Any ideas?

adorable

Can we get a pic with her tail? Is it short furred like a short haired border collie or long furred & fluffy like a shepherd or bernese mountain dog?

She has short hair on her tail, black with a curly little white tip at the end. Very cute

I will post more pics tonight.

Im thinking Entlebucher Mountain dog .. Even though they are rare, nothing surprises me anymore.. Alot of BYB's are breeding for the "rarer" breeds these days.

Madison's legs look quite heavy boned to me, and I'm wondering if there's some Rottweiler. The white markings, ears do look like Border Collie. A real cutie patutie!

What is her personality like? Her energy level? How eager is she to please? Is she a "stubborn" dog? Does she learn things REAAAALLY fast?

Looks isnt the only things that makes up a breed of dog, its who they are and how they act too

I have to agree with LP here. I am no expert on dog breeds by any measure, but she looks very much like a Bernese Mountain pup that gets walked every morning past my corner and gets treats from my overflowing pockets on her way out.

Both are very cute!!!

Apparently it can be difficult to tell what breeds are in a "mutt" just by looks.

http://www.thestar.com/living/articl...we-have-a-mutt

You could get a Dog DNA kit and do a cheek swab and send it away to find out what breeds are in Madison.

Google English Shepherd and you will see some similar colouring. It's awfully hard to tell what a mix is going to mature like though. A neighbour was told their dog is half Border Collie and half Lab but he looks a lot like some of the English Shepherds at the place my sister got her ES puppy.

Too bad this thread is over three years old and the OP never came back. I'd love to see what she looks like now. She did look like English Shepherd to me. I put the link to them in up above, way back when this thread was new.

I didn't even notice the date, oh well to bad. My puppy is only 5 months right now, and they resemble each other a lot. They are both very cute.
