Pulling on the leash - the lighter side
The prong collar discussion jogged my memory about something funny I meant to share about Jaida.
So, she can be a puller. Part of it is impatience and part of it is that she generally walks a bit faster with her tripod gait. Mostly impatience. I know with most dogs you shouldn't let them hold their leash because it lets them control things, but Jaida is the most submissive thing on the planet, and it's not an issue with her, so we let her do it. She actually is FRANTIC to hold the leash when we walk. She MUST have it in her mouth, either hers or Gracie's (which is quite cute, she "walks" Gracie). To the point that we don't even need to clip her leash to her collar. She won't let go. A few times now, we've been out with both dogs, and let Gracie offleash once we hit the trail. Gracie runs ahead, Jaida's still holding her leash., which is not clipped. She's in a panic because Gracie's out of sight and she's now dragging us down the trail. She will STILL not let go of the darn leash, and it's only her own mouth that's keeping her "hostage". You have to tell her "out" to remind her to let go. It gives me the giggles every time.
