Thumbs up Heart Treats

Another easy treat recipe:

Simmer a beef heart in boiling water and a little garlic powder (optional, but NOT salt) for 2 to 3 hours. Slice thin and cut to desired size. Store in fridge or freeze.

I couldn`t find beef hearts at the supermarket so I asked if they ever got them in. As they are no longer popular among humans they said they didn`t regularly bring them in but would order them for me any time I wanted. I said okay and because I took the whole box (contained two beef hearts) they gave it to me at their cost of $8.00 and that sure made a lot of treats!! And the dogs loved them.

The second time I made this I put the slices on a cookie sheet in a slow oven for a couple of hours to dry them out and make them crunchy.
