Thyro-Up thyroid supplement

I have a 9 yo Boston Terrier. She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 2yrs ago. At the time she was over weight, drinking a lot, sleeping a lot. She was put on Soloxine .2mg 2x a day. Did fine for about a year. The last year she has lost excessive weight (you can see her back bone and ribs) and stopped eating well. Her skin and hair are terrible, she is extremely lethargic. I took her off Soloxine and started her on an all natural thyroid supplement. 3 wks ago had her blood tested and her thyroid was low. Now she is on Thyro-Up supplement. She is very disoriented, her bag legs are wobbly, she can hardly hold her head up, not drinking much at all but is still urinating. I was wondering if anyone has used Thyro-Up and if there were any side effects. Thanks,

When your Boston began to lose weight and her coat condition degraded, did you bring her to the vet for a checkup? It might be something other than the hypothyroidism or the meds for it that was causing her symptoms.

I've had her at 3 different vets and none of them can give me any answers.

I was thnking of the same thing as hazelrunpack, maybe something not related to the thyroid.

I'm into using supplements and more holistic methods, but for a low thyroid, I would use the standardized Soloxine - too many things can go wrong when the thyroid is not consistently treated.

I don't know if this is an idea, but have you looked into something like Addison's? Have you looked at the bloodwork yourself to see if there is anything near the edges?

Has a tick diseases been ruled out?
