Bobbing for Kongs

So in an effort to teach Shamus to love water we filled up the doggie pool to see if he would maybe like that instead, since it is self contained and in our yard so without a current and deep water maybe he would feel more comfortable.
What we discovered is Shelby and him have a hidden talent lol.
They are professional Kong bobbers!! Here's what I caught.

Ok where did the kong go?

Is it in there Shelby?

There it is....but we can't lift it out!!

How cute.

When I get possession of my new house at the end of June I'm gonna buy a small pool for Dracko to have fun in. He loves water and I don't get much of a chance to take him to any.

And a new dog sport is invented! That's a great idea to maybe keep city dogs cool in the summer.

Great pics!

Well we decided the pool was a good option for us,since we do live in town and on super hot days Shelby likes to go and splash around in it.
It's not like we have access to a pond, river or lake nearby everytime we take them swimming its at least a 20 minute drive or more so the pool is a convenience...not as fun for them but convenient none the less.

Sure looks like they were enjoying themselves... but, really - who had the most fun - you watching them or the doggies bobbing???? Tell the truth now

Cool pool game, trippencherri. We have some real Kong lovers, but I suspect they'd rather let them drown than go after them--setters don't take to water very well! But Shamus and Shelby sure do look like they're having fun!

Cute pictures trippincherri. I'm sure they'll appreciate that kiddie pool when it starts to get really hot. Hours of entertainment for you!

Thanks guys! And yes I admit it....I laughed so hard I was crying watching these two ha ha ha.
And I think this was good training for Shamus because yesterday he actually went for a swim!! He wasn't the most graceful swimmer but he had so much fun lol, and then we couldn't keep him away from the water.
I have some pics and video (I have to upload some video ,I have a few that are good to watch) of his big swim yesterday,so when I have time this weekend I will post them!
