Cat food question
I haven't found many topics on a healthy choice for cat food (on the web)
Were feeding orijen/acana, and when they're a bit older we'll feed the prey model diet(because of the whole animals, its best to keep it outside) So I was wondering what you guys thought were some good quality brands, and maybe some reasons why you like them. I have not done research on feeding cats.. so any information is welcomed! Thank you |

If you want to start on a raw diet at a later time I would suggest switching to canned only now.
Dry food is inherently bad for cats with their high protein requirements and low thirst drive, it is the exact opposite of what their bodies were designed to ear. Dryfood is also tied into some of the most common ailments of cats incl diabetes, kidney failure, obesity and bladder stones. It is also often challenging to switch a dry fed cat to something with a completely different smell & texture, much easier with a younger cat or one that has always eaten some canned. http://www.catinfo.org/ Some top canned food brands: Nature's Variety, Wellness, Innova, Evo, Merrick, Eagle Pack Holistic Select, California Naturals. Feeding grain free canned is even better and closer to the raw model.
