Buying prescription diet food online?

Hi,

Just wondering if you guys can help me out to save a few bucks. My kitty was very sick for a while last year and got put on a prescription diet. I was just wondering if people can tell me where I can order the Hills Prescription diet a/d and Medi Cal Developmental Formula online that will ship to Canada. The Medi Cal isn't that bad but the Hills is super expensive as it's almost $3 for a can of it! It adds up quick and I want to see where I can order them cheaper so I don't have to pay the outrageous prices the vets charge. Thanks.

What was wrong with your kitty?

Why does your cat still need the A/D? It's typically only for supplemental or intermittent feeding. Does s/he have appetite issues?

Why is your cat on a prescription diet? Most vet foods IMO are crap, they have terrible ingredient lists (many partial grains grouped within the first 4-5 ingredients) and a lot contain by-products. The reason the vet foods are so expensive is that you have to pay a pet food rep to go to each vet clinic in the city to sell them to vets. There are quite a few of independent brands that make 90-95% meat cans for dogs (I'm sure they do for cats too), I'd do that instead personally.

Medi-Cal is owned by the same company that makes mars chocolate bars and Hills is owned by the same company that makes Palmolive Soap and Colgate Toothpaste... this should shed some insight on what the company's motives are ($$$$$$$$$$$).
