Unhappy Well.. a Bailey shocker!

Today he had all his "fun" tests done, Cardio thing and Chest x-rays
After taking a look at his innerds the vets have concluded....

Nothing:sad: Other than the fact that there is NO way Bailey is approx 4 years old. They said they would be shocked if he was under.... get this... 9 and would not be suprised at all if he was more around the 12 mark.

His heart is slightly enlarged on the right side and he has some weird "leaf like veiny things" on that same side. They believe it may be calcium deposits of some kind ( or something like that.)
The results from the ECG will be in tomorrow.
So... in a nut shell, Bailey is not a really sick young guy, he's a rather healthy old guy.

Obviously someone lied about his age at some point.

Well thats all I have for now.

well knock me over with a feather

i guess... this is good news then? i mean not really cuz if he's already a senior, his good years are counted but... at least you know now. And can deal with whatever happens.

poor old guy... some humans really suck!

but there are many more to make up for it!

Oddly I can handle him being a mildly sick old dog more than him being a very sick young dog.

His excersise restrictions have been lifted, thank goodness too because I brought him for his possibly FIRST swim ever. And like a duck ( or a cocker) he LOVED it.

Basically he just isnt allowed to chase Meiko anymore but is allowed to run around on his own then stop when he's tired ( he wont if Meik is running too)

At least things make sense now.

Wow! That's alright news I guess Good that there's nothing really wrong with him, but bad that he's way older than you thought. At least Bailey's in a great home for his golden years

Wow...that's a shocker! How long have you had him? I know sometimes when people are trying to rehome an older dog, they will lie about the age thinking they will be adopted more easily if they are "younger". At least there's no serious health problems, and I'm sure he has many good years left!!

Wow! Of all the news you might have been expecting, I'll bet this wasn't on the list. Huh!

All in all, good, though. Not good that he's so much older than you'd been told, but very good that he's so healthy for an older dog that you never thought he might be an old dog.

Now you just have to convince him to act his age, and not chase the youngesters around.

for no serious issues and no expensive treatments, and for a good vet team. (and lots of for Bailey's mom for going through all of this!)

Maybe you should get him a little wagon and attach it to Meiko and he can keep up that way .
Great idea I'll just go run it by Meik first!

Well that is good news for sure. Atleast he isn't as sick as you had feared.
It is too bad that he is older than you thought, but out of everything you were thinking about, this is great news

I'm so glad it wasn't bad news and that the little guy can get back to his regular life in his fabulous, caring, forever home .

Maybe you should get him a little wagon and attach it to Meiko and he can keep up that way .

Look at it from the bright side! If someone lied about the dog's age, so be it. There are many dishonest people out there. But the dog has a great owner that cares about him. Enjoy your dog and forget the "bad stuff'. I don't know where you got the dog? But at this point does it matter?
