Cat just got neutered, licking his wound..
Hi Guys,
My cat just got neutered today and he's licking his wound.. the doctor recommended I put skin cream on it.. it does work for the most part.. but I'm worried he will lick it while Im away.. or asleep.. Is there anything else you guys can recommend? Its late so i can't get a e-collar.. |

Is the area red/inflamed?
hmm I can't think of anything besides the e-collar at the moment as I'm sure kitty would find a way to get anything else off. Are u just using regular human skin cream??? I'm not sure about that because of the ingredients....but aloe like Jim suggested is a good idea.

Hi Guys,
Its been about 5 days since the neuter, he seems to be doing great, but I've noticed a very small scab has formed where I assume the incision was.. Is this normal? He is not experiencing any pain, he's acting 100% normal.. Should I be concerned? |

Is it red, swollen or oozing along the incision or around the scab? If not, it's probably okay. If you have any doubts, of course, check with your vet.

Just keep an eye on it for any signs of infection and keep him from licking at it (it might be starting to get itchy, which might mean he'll try to lick it more) and it should be okay. How big is the scab?
